The BMCC Safe Zone training is geared towards providing support to members of the BMCC LGBTQIA+ community and helping to create a more inclusive environment at BMCC. We invite all members of the BMCC community to register for the new BMCC SafeZone Training.
Participants will learn how to become better allies and how to create safe and inclusive spaces for the Queer community at BMCC and beyond. Participants will explore LGBTQIA+ identities, gender, sexuality, and intersectionality, while also examining prejudice, societal expectations, and privilege. Participants who complete the 2 hour training will receive a certificate of completion, along with a SafeZone email-signature logo to verify they are BMCC SafeZone Trained.
The training is open to students, faculty, and staff with a 50 person capacity.
