NYC Area Shelters

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) tailors services to a variety of different populations of clients. DHS provides temporary emergency shelter to Single Adult and Single Female as well as families. Before any New Yorker can enter a shelter, he/she must first apply at the intake center that is designated for him or her. More information.
