Degree Programs

In these Evening/Weekend Associate Degree Programs, students may complete their degree requirements by attending classes, either part-time or full-time, exclusively on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. This is an ideal opportunity for busy people juggling work and family responsibilities.

The Accounting Program (ACC) is designed to provide the student with a strong preparation in accounting, business and liberal arts. The program also prepares students for entry-level positions in the accounting field. In addition, a large percentage of students choose to continue their education at four-year colleges in order to become certified public accountants (CPA).
CPAs can have their own companies or work in public, private or government accounting.

The Business Administration Program (BAN), administered by the Business Management Department, provides students with a general education background and 12 credits in basic business. After completion of the program, students may transfer to a senior college or university to attain the baccalaureate degree in business. The Business Administration Program is suggested for those who want a strong liberal arts background, and who intend to continue their undergraduate education in business.

The Business Management Program (BEC) is a course of study leading to an A.A.S. degree. The coursework includes both general requirements (liberal arts courses) as well as curriculum requirements (business courses). In addition, each student takes elective courses in one of the following four areas of study: General Management, Finance & Banking, Marketing or Travel & Tourism. The Business Management program is offered Saturdays plus online.

The Child Care/Early Childhood Education-Preschool/Elementary (ECP) provides a core of Liberal Arts courses as well as specialized courses in child care and early childhood education. Students will find many career choices in the Child Care curriculum. These include working directly with children in early childhood education settings such as child care centers and Head Start programs.

The Computer Network Technology (CNT) prepares students to operate sophisticated, state-of-the-art computer equipment. Students are also given in-depth instruction in JCL, telecommunications networks, and operating systems concepts. The program prepares students for positions such as network administrator, network support technician, and network engineer.

The Liberal Arts Program (LIB) provides students with a well-rounded background in the sciences, humanities, mathematics, and languages. It allows students to enter senior colleges of their choice after successful completion of the associate degree requirements. This program provides a variety of courses in many different areas – offering
students an opportunity to decide eventually upon a major area or specialization. Students who choose the general Liberal Arts Program are usually interested in preparing for careers in teaching, law, medicine, the humanities, the social sciences, counseling, journalism, or other broad areas. The LIberal Arts program is offered both with a Saturdays plus online schedule or a regular classroom-only schedule.

The Nursing Department (NUR) offers a program leading to the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. Students are then eligible to take the New York State Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing (RN). Students may matriculate in a day or part-time evening/weekend sequence.
