What are the requirements for admission?

Anyone who has a high school diploma, an accredited state high school equivalency diploma, or foreign secondary education credentials equivalent to a United States high school diploma is eligible to attend BMCC.

Do I need a skills assessment before taking classes?

All entering freshmen are required to take the CUNY Skills Assessment Tests, which consists of tests in three skills areas: reading, writing, and mathematics. For further information regarding testing procedures,
please see the Testing Office webpages.
The Testing Office provides free test prep workshops to help you prepare for the skills assessment tests.

What are the costs? Can I get financial aid?

Are there scholarships?

Our Scholarships office provides information about hundreds of scholarship opportunities. There are scholarship workshops offered at different times of the day, including evening.

Do you offer childcare?

The BMCC Early Childhood Center offers Evening and Weekend hours.

Is there any assistance if I need help finding affordable housing, financial or legal services?

Are there online resources I can access during the week or on weekends?

The Learning Resource Center provides online tutoring in a variety of subjects.
