Brooklyn Community Foundation
Brooklyn Community Foundation recognizes that as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to intensify locally, it will
have disproportionate health, economic, and social impacts on communities of color at the margins of power and access. The Foundation believes the most vulnerable communities have been systematically denied the material resources to buffer from the emerging threats this pandemic presents. The Brooklyn COVID-19 Response Fund will operate in alignment with the Foundation’s racial justice lens, which prioritizes support for nonprofits that work towards racial equity, are led by members of affected communities, and center the voices of those directly impacted by structural racism in decision-making. The Fund is accepting applications on a rolling basis for immediate response grants in the following priority areas: Anti-stigma efforts and support to address xenophobic, anti-Asian harassment, and discrimination Prevention measures (education, sanitary supplies) and support for vulnerable populations of people, i.e. older adults, people with compromised immune systems, and people who are unhoused. The Fund is accepting applications on a rolling basis for immediate response grants of up to $10,000.
