The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment compiles, maintains, and provides analysis of institutional and other data to support the operation, decision-making, and planning functions of the College. Working with the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, OIRA’s mission is to provide information that is accurate, meaningful and useful to meet the needs of both internal and external constituencies; to support assessment activities and promote the use of results for quality enhancement; to explain and interpret information, making recommendations to decision-makers as appropriate. Institutional Review Boards (IRB): The IRB Committee functions are now centralized into a CUNY University-wide system called the CUNY Human Research Protection Program (HRPP.) This office is responsible for the protection of the rights and welfare of human subjects in research projects conducted at CUNY or by CUNY faculty, staff and students and RF CUNY staff. Fastlane: the National Science Foundation (NSF) website for researchers and potential researchers, reviewers, and research administrators and their organizations.
ERA Commons — a virtual meeting place where NIH extramural grantee organizations, grantees, and the public can receive and transmit information about the administration of biomedical and behavioral research.
IV. Sample Proposals
Sample proposals can be helpful to analyze as you prepare to write your own proposal. However please also keep in mind these are “sample” proposals and not necessarily “model” proposals. In reviewing them, keep in mind that some are dated and do not necessarily reflect current funding priorities and proposal requirements of these same grant making agencies. Please also keep in mind these samples are made available as a “learning tool” and may not be used unless consent from the principal investigator is granted.
